Best Indian restaurant in W13/5

I've been to Montys which is good and Haweli which is average so I'm looking for great food as I'm planning to eat out tonightThanks

Tried Mumbai 2 Go for the first time last night and can report that first impressions are good. Being a lamb chop fan, the starter was boss!!! Little pricey for me, but would use again....

Had a takeaway from Mama's last night.. very very impressed.  Better than Cardamom .. had Himalayan Chicken and they made it madras level of spice.  Definately best in Northfields in my eyes.

Zayka on south Ealing Road is really nice, and very consistent...it's as good as Monty's used to be.Also v nice: Monty's in Ealing Broadway, Clay Oven in EB and Papaya.I noticed the unfortunately-named 'JSM Inn' has been replaced by a new indian. Unless they're trying to create a Curry Mile effect (or just love the competition), I can't see the point of opening another one on Northfields Ave.

I would also recommend the Bawarchi on Hanwell Broadway.  Lovely chunks of meat in their dishes unlike so many restaurants which just seem to be variations of slop.Also India India further down Northfields Ave nearer station.  Quite small but very friendly service and bargain mid-week half price - you will need to book.

Noticed that The Coriander Leaf was closed and flyposted; shame but there's so much local competition.----------------------------------They were working inside there very recently, having been closed for sometime. A refurb, maybe........

Yes, Mamas is very good. I tried their butter chicken recently and it was the best I've tasted, with a lovely char-grilled, almost smoky taste imparted by the tandoor. They're also generous in supplementing each takeaway order with a large bottle of decent Nepalese beer.I've also noticed that Mumbai2Go have upped their game recently. They're a very good delivery-only option.

Mamas is generally very good. Run by escapees from the Monty's empire I believe.

I'd fully endorse Christina's recommendation of Papaya on Northfields Ave. There are some magnificent dishes available and very authentic.Also, another favourite of mine is the Urban Karahi on Greenford Avenue (try the lamb chop starter!!!). It's a really great restaurant for both eat in and take away!

A sweeping generalisation from Marie based on the fact that three dodgy restaurants are closed on health grounds each week in Southall.I ate at Monty's South Ealing Road on Thursday and you can see into the spotless kitchen. If you are worried, although it is a snapshot, you can always check the 'scores on the doors' website to check the results of the last hygeine inspection. If they are not listed don't go there. If they have no stars and there are some in Ealing with this rating, eat there at your own risk!

If you can bring yourself to W7 then I would recommend with confidence Bawarchi. They are in Hanwell Broadway, by the bus stop, just after Lidl if you are coming from West Ealing.Portions are huge, the food is good, prices are cheap and the service is very friendly.Reading from their takeaway menu, Around Ealing magazine rated it good enough to earn four stars.
