You are spot-on.There are some great restaurants in Southall and many now have 'open' kitchens where the food preparation is clear for all to see.I now use the 'scores on the doors' website to check on the last inspection. It is only a snapshot and I am surprised at some of the results, notably a local takeaway that I have used for years and which is spotless gettting 'zero stars'.That said, if I don't know the place and it has a zero rating, I give it a wide berth.The problem I guess is that the margins are quite high and restaurants are easy to open in a flurry of publicity with the staff having little, or often no, training.Alleged staff cuts at Ealing Council do nothing to make me feel safer in this regard.
