Yes Planning permission now exists for the building of 21 homes , mostly affordable flats, of which 6 will be social rented.Earlier designs for a square block of flats with 41 and then 31 homes were dropped. The latest design for the main building has peaked roofs and its overall appearance is an interesting attempt to mimic the immediate residential Edwardian architectural style to the east, south and north.Having planning permission doesn't mean that bulding will ever take place. However the owners - Notting Hill Housing - have invested considerable time and money over the last few years in demolition, planning applications and architects' fees so it's likely that building might start soon.
