As you point out, Baroness Uddin has not repaid the money, but she does face having her suspension extended because her fellow peers do not want her in the chamber. Some peers in the House of Lords do actually have morals. Last year they voted to extend peers' suspensions, on the basis that Baroness Uddin - and there are others - might use their (taxpayer-funded) daily allowance of £300 to repay the money owed in cheating her expenses. There is a possibility that Baroness Uddin could see her suspension extended until 2015. And who can forget, Lord Taylor of Warwick, our dear Ealing resident, who was jailed over his expenses. He wanted to return to the Upper House because he believed he had a "role to play" in reforming prisons!
