I suppose there's nothing to prevent your asking a window cleaner to come and then stopping after one visit.

Hi again, are these rates for regular cleaning? I only wanted a one-off. I got annoyed when I pointed out bits and they said stains requiring a scraper were a pound a pop extra - surely not normal? I actually think he had a card with the address Oaklands Ave W7 on it and a mobile which is probably in the pocket of whatever I was wearing. I guess if it was all verbal no issue with trading standards though...

There's no contract. My bloke's Bulgarian and has been coming for several years now. He just turns up about once a month.

Get my 3 bed end terrace done for £8 outside only. I wouldn't let anyone who is casually employed into my house though I would my window cleaner Reg as I have known him for a good while.

HHHmmm. For the £20 do you have to be in a contractual relationship? This guy (Eastern European) and mate wanted £10 if he came monthly for the front only. I wanted a one off for which I bargained down from £20 to £15. He did a downstairs bay (inside and out) but I realised after they'd gone they had not done the upstairs which I was told the non-speaking one was doing while the-one-who-did the-talking did sitting room.

I had a 'chancer' knock on my door in Hanwell and asked if I wnated 'and estimate' for window cleaning. I asked for a ball park figure and he said "£75 in and out" (four bed , two stoeys). I think he might have been offended by the duration of my laughter :-)

We pay £20 for a four-bedroomed house, two storeys, front and back. Went up from £18 recently.
