South Ealing Road
Nice to hear that local councillors are taking the GLA & TfL folk for a tour of the highway and pedestrian improvements in South Ealing.I can only assume they will be fitting them with blinkers and leads so as to show them just little bits.I hope not.I hope they show them the poorly lit and horribly exposed southbound 65 bus stop that 10 years later still has no bus shelter and no Countdown facility.I hope it rains too and it is the usual 25 min wait so they get the full gamut of what it is like there.Hopefully too, they will arrive by bus in either direction and experience the violent bouncing that causes passengers to stumble and collide with other passengers from the speed tables which are too steep causing even a bus at a crawl to ground.Note too, the narrowing that has caused 8 head on clipping collisions with buses and HGVs in 3 months. Thankfully just mirrors have been the only casualties. The pull ins that have such an acute angle, buses hit them, so now don't bother to pull in.Much of it is nice, the pavements are excellent and the area tidy, but the things that really needed doing are still not even thought about.Too much designed and modelled on computer and wholly impractical in execution.I do hope they point all this out.
