currency

hi there,can anyone recommend the best place to get foreign currency in ealing Broadway area?I need to get some US Dollars, and wondered if there was a particularly good curency place with good rates?Thanks

Tescos is as good as any (also the other supermarkets) When I go to the US I just use the ATM with my debit card over there..Also you can buy pre-paid cards here in the supermarkets to use when you are there which saves having to carry cash...have a nice trip.

If you happen to find yourself in Victoria head for the Exchange place on the south side of Victoria Street. (Walking away from Victoria Station towards Westminster, it's on your right).You will always find queues of people changing up money there. I reckon it might be safe to say "Best rates in London" I aint got a clue about rates in Ealing since I now always use the place in Victoria Street!

It's chip-and-pin and can also be used in shops and restaurants just like a debit card.

Get a Caxton card. You can load it with dollars transferred from your bank account and then use ATMs free of charge in the US. The rate is better than on the High Street. I've been using my Euro one happily for the last couple of years but they do US$ too.https://www.caxtonfxcard.com/index.asp

If the Thomas Cook in Ealing is still open, it's probably your best bet.M&S had excellent rates for many years and are now reaping the rewards of public perception.  Having said that, they are competitive on dollar rates today.The other place with reasonable rates is the Post Office - but be careful if you are buying less than £500-worth as they have more than one rate and they aren't as clear as they might be about telling you what they are.

M&S isn't bad. If it's a common one like Dollars or Euros - no need to order. Better still is Travelex which can be collected at the airport or delivered to your home. Better rates of exchnage
