Scam alert argyle road and surroundIng areas

We just had a knock at the door from a young well spoken lady about 11 to 14 years old claiming to be collecting sponcership for a local badminton club. My wife was about to give her some money when I spotted a man across the road with her. Her posh accent failed when We asked who he was. He believe there travellers Please let anyone know along argyle road and any local areas

We had a boy aged about 12 knock at our door with a piece of paper with an Ealing Council letterhead on it collecting to keep a youth club open. I was trying to feed my children so I was distracted and gave him £3. I wonder if he was part of the same scam.He may well have been genuine - in which case it's a shame that I find myself becoming suspicious.

Had the same experience a couple of years ago again sponsered babminton day plus young girl who spoke quite well until challenged when demanding cash up front then the full Irish brogue let slip ,travellers im sure. who else is going to pay for the wedding

Had something similar last year. Realised straight away. Any school, club extra, would not ask a child to knock on anyone's door that they did not know, for safety reasons. When I challenged the young girl, as in when are you doing the sponsored walk, who is the person organising it? I got lots of abuse.
