Power Cuts

Parts of Raymond Avenue (W13) had their second power cut within a week last night (19/12/2011). This time it was from around 22:00 until around 1:15am. The emergency phone line was working and told me that their engineer had been paged, but was dealing with other emergancies, and would not make his way to the sub station dealing with our street until he's fixed the others. This is not acceptable, one engineer for many power sub stations? Smacks of penny pinching cuts.I'd love to declare Southern Electric "unfit for purpose" as a power supplier. Leaving elderly people (and everyone else) in the dark for hours, because they don't have anyone who can deal with it directly as they used to do. The previous power cut also affected Hanwell & Brentford. Are these on-going power cuts a problem elswhere in Ealing and surrounding area?

To be fair it really wouldn't matter which power suplier you used they all use the same sub-station to supply you although most of our local network is operated by Southern Electric Power Distribution (a separate company from the one that actually supplies you and to whom you pay your bill) part is operated by UK Power Networks Limited (although I am unclear where the demarcation' is).We had a large emergency generator 'on standby' all last night by the substation in Boston Road. There have been a number of small 'outages' locally along with the large outage last week.

I havent heard of other areas being affected but it is unacceptable at this time of year. The outage in the West End last week was I believe due to penny pinching/lack of investment
