Re  What is going on in our judicial system ?                        vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv  very good question, and I may well use the case of this alledged drunked woman who in my opinion did no great harm ( man got groped,so what ) but the C P S saw fit to prosecute her, which resulted in her being heavily fined and given a criminal record etc. Two months or so ago I made an impromptu decision late one Sunday evening to return to Ealing from Southampton instead of travelling  on the Monday morning. I had  not been long on the M3 motorway, in the middle lane doing  circa 60mph, saw a vehicle in my rear view mirror heading my way at an alarming rate. As I feared, it hit me, helluva bang, sweved off to the right into the barrier area losing control, still going faster than me,shot off down the m/way,got tangled up with  two  other innocent vehicles, shot off again at  high speed. About 8 miles further on the very car was in the inside lane losing control, hit something and ended up facing back the way it came. I did not want to confront the driver as I did not know how many persons in that car or their state ( it then was circa 20 past midnight ) their state obviously being well drunk or high on drugs. So I pulled up a bit further  on the hard shoulder, called the Police, who took all details, said I could continue on my journey as another person now reporting the matter. I had a phone call later in the week from the Police somewhere in Hampshire saying they would be in touch later or come to see me but as they did not, next time I was in So'ton, I went to the local cop shop and was told investigations still under way, could not tell me the driver as by the time the Police got to the car at the scene that night, the driver had scarpered, for obvious reasons, either drunk or drugged. The Police were looking at the case as such, car registered in the Andover area. Next time I was in So'ton, I enquired re progress, was told owner not responding to letters re who was driving and if he refuses, not much the Police can do?. And in any event, the C P S may well not agree to prosecute. So here we have a driver in a dangerous condition driving at high speed out of control, drunk or drugged, hitting other road users, putting their  lives at risk but likely to get away scott free. No comparison in the two cases I M O.
