Iceland bank funds defrosted
Perhaps our Councillors should have a public consultation as to what to do with £2M.The Tories gave us an election bribe which went down like a lead balloon (and incidentally was supported by the Labour party). The Socialists are building garages and new squares and wasting money in Council buildings. Also lead balloon items in a recession.With so little growth in the economy envisaged for the next 10 years, what would you suggest under capital spending, if that is what it has to be, which would benefit a wider number in our community DIRECTLY?Alternatively should it be used just to reduce the Council's overdraft? Or could someone like Cllr Phil Taylor tell us if this money could just possibly be used for Revenue expenditure - which we all know is the most pressing area of need?
