Diwali fireworks - any events planned in Southall?

I've searched on Google and the Ealing council site and even on here, but I can't find any info about whether there are any public firework displays planned for Diwali in Southall.I believe it officially falls tomorrow. Anybody got any information on events this week or weekend?

From my high perch there have some half dozen fireworks displays in the Southall (north of Uxbridge Road), Norwood Green area, and Hayes End...with another in North Bedfont near Hatton Cross.)All have been colourful.. so what are the residents celebrating?ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooIt's now after 11pm and the banging continues..near Norwood Green certainly.I'm not grumbling.. just letting you know what goes on!Hang on,as I type this..big bangs from Hounslow Heath area and Convent Way area.Locals (not involved) will just have to put up with it!

Does anyone have evidence of any police ever taking action over fireworks?

I was fuming with the lateness of the fireworks on Diwali.I live in the Hanwell / Greenford area and the last fireworks I heard that evening were at 0240hrs!!! I was so angry that the Police were not being proactive in identifying the home(s) that the fireworks were coming from and visiting them immediately. Who are these people that want to do this at that time of the morning and how selfish are they ? Do they not have children who have school the following day ? Do they not have neighbours ? Do they not have consideration for others ? Clearly not.

Last night was quiet. On my way to work this morning I saw Brent adverises a Diwali Fireworks Display in Barham Park on Nov 5th. Could someone inform them as to the history of England?

Well, this Sunday evening..hardly a flare in sight across a huge horizon.A little display at Lampton for a short while, the occasional bang bang in Heston..but I'd say not a whisper from Southall.Very different from some previous years..when the banging went on for many days and for many hours.  In conclusion I'd say that it was a one day event across the region (except Perivale!)..and that was last Wednesday only.

Whilst I feel this is a nice festival to celebrate,can anyone tell me what is the point of those excruciatingly loud banging fireworks which cannot possibly be entertaining and also keep people awake...not to mention frightening young children and animals....they should be banned....

I found it.It is an offence for any person to use 'adult fireworks' between the hours of 11pm and 7am except for 'permitted' fireworks nights. These exceptions where the curfew start times is later are as follows:5 November – 12 MidnightDiwali – 1amNew Year's Eve – 1amChinese New Year – 1amPerivale is like the Western Front as I type.

1am guidelines seen on a couple of website somewhere..possibly Ealing Council.So, this Saturday evening just a few firewaorks and displays going on ..I'd say less than 5% of what happened on Wednesday evening. Hardly anything on Southall...maybe a couple of flares at Hayes End, saw a few Harmondsworth way, and something well organised and pretty near Hounslow West/Airport area.Looking out from the high perch just now.. I'd say Southall was dead!There are Chiswick Business Park fireworks on Thursday and a display at the Concorde Club, Cranford on Friday 4th Nov.

From my high rise perch.. I can tell you that there were just a few fireworks going off on Tuesday evening (25th).But masses on Wednesday all over West Hounslow, Heston, Norwood Green and Southall and beyond.  They were great...and seemed to stop at about 1am promptly as per guidelines.Thursday evening (27th) was quiet really by comparison say just 10% of the previous night's activity.I've been out this evening and don't know what happened.
