Referendum on Europe - U Turn?

After over 100,000 people signed a petition demanding that the topic shuld be raised in Parliament it would seem that the matter is being brought forward to Monday. It was supposed to be discussed Thursday but the PM would have been in Australia so it was brought forward in order that the ministers will be ordered to vote AGAINST holding a referendum. Ther will even have a 3 line whip to ensure that the MP's have to fall in line!Surely we were promised such a referendum by Mr Cameron during the election? Perhaps it is because the government are afraid of the answer?Now whether we should have closer ties with Europe or not is such an important question surely? They obviously don't trust the public to have a their say - so much for promises!What is the point in telling people they can have a topic raised in parliament provided over 100,000 people sign a petition? Empty words, empty promises.How can we ever trust politicians to keep their word?

The whole EUSSR is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the British electorate. We were told it was economic, not political by traitorous liars like Heath and Wilson. We were given not real vote over entry. It does not even give us a good deal economically. Why we need to be in a club founded to stop the Germans and French killing one another is beyond me. We should be out and out too of the European court and human rights conventions. While we are at it, let the Celtic fringes say once and for all if they want to be in an integrated UK or pay their own way to do their own thing.
