Uganda developoment charity talk
If you have an interest in Africa, poverty and development issues generally you may wish to come to the 10am service at St John’s Church, Mattock Lane, Ealing.The guest speaker this week is Dr John Maitland, founder of Uganda Development Services, an Ealing-based charity that works to help Ugandans out of poverty.After working as a doctor in rural Uganda for several years, John Maitland founded UDS in 1994. It is nowadays a registered NGO, helping rural Ugandans develop information and communication skills and knowledge of technology. UDS promotes literacy, computer and farming skills to help Uganda’s poorest .Dr Maitland will be speaking about UDS’ work as part of Sunday’s service, in an interview-style talk with Curate Sally Hitchener. He’ll also deliver a sermon, preaching on the theme of "putting courage into action to fulfil a God given vision".
