What happened to TH Carr in Pitshanger? Every time I have been there in the last 3 weeks it's been closed.Has it shut down?

Most fresh fishmongers are traditionally shut on Mondays as the fish from the markets was at least two days old when there were poor weekend transport links. A traditiona that survives even down to a number of fish and chip shops not 'frying' on Mondays.

No, they are very much alive and kicking. It is just that they are shut on Monday, probably as there is no much trade for them on this day, and I believe on Wednesday afternoon when other shops in the lane are also closed.
