Fun Fairs
A question (actually two) if I may. Which I will ask here in advance of a FOI request to the Council as doubtless one of you fine people will know.Who gives permission for funfairs to be staged in public parks and, specifically, is enough revenue generated to cover the necessary repairs after the funfair has vacated? The annual Fun Fair has moved onto Elthorne Park, thankfully only for four days. Sadly, living opposite I have already had to endure the stench of Diesel from the generators, the flashing strobes which light my lounge through closed curtains and the thumping bass of the ‘music’. On the last of these, although now an ‘old f*rt’ I grew up with Deep Purple and Funkadelic/Parliament but the funfair music is bass for the sake of bass and really annoying even through double glazing. The grassed area is already tearing up and while I am pretty annoyed at the smell and noise I do wonder if local residents are actually benefiting from this in terms of a decent nett revenue.
