Making Leighton Rd one-way would increase traffic as cars would drive further when they make their return journey, on even narrower roads.You cannot park on corners. Period. However as has been pointed out drivers don't always respect this. So adding double yellow lines will re-inforce what is the Highway Code anyway.We are all aware that Leighton Rd is narrow and passing is difficult. The idea of the yellow lines on the corners is to ensure that there are more opportunities to pass safely. It is not a creeping introduction to controlled parking, but a realistic and sensible proposal to ease the flow of traffic
