Well, I just went online to register and once again the default is to uncheck the opt-out box, regardless of the previous preference setting. Of course this time, I checked it before submitting the information!George, thanks for the links. I registered with the telephone preference service years ago and it did almost eliminate cold calls. There have been a handful since then, usually of the type where the caller hangs up after I ask where they got my telephone number as they know they're breaking the law. I've had a couple this year offering to help me claim after my accident. They even argued with me when I told them I had not had, or reported, any such accident.The telephone preference service covers mobiles too, by the way, but only calls, not spam texts.I'll register for the postal preference too.
