Ealing Prayer Vigil

I just received notice of this . ================================================Time        Saturday, August 13 · 6:00pm - 7:00pmLocation  Ealing Green on the grass in front of the damaged shopsWith the terrible events of the past week christians from churches all over Ealing (and those who don't go to church) are gathering to pray for those affected by the riots, for young people in London, and for God's ongoing peace on our streets. We're holding a simple prayer vigil that will be all age and accessible to all.6-7pm Saturday 13th August - Ealing Green (infront of the damaged shops)Please do invite friends - Everyone wanting to pray, light a candle or write in the prayer book is welcome!

I was there and I feel that whilst we must punish those criminals who get things going, i also feel that some people who have realsied that they may have been caught up by the moment and now reget it should be treated more leniently but be made to help with repair work. we all do daft things in our youth and luckily for many of us or stupidity perhaps ends up with no one getting hurt. but we need to seperate the people who genuinely made silly mistakes who got caught up in things from the crminal gangster scum who have no regard for others. also after years of bliar and co pandering to big business we need to get back to companies and contracts stipulating the employment of local people (including training) the olympics was a golden opportunity that was missed (apart from a few token schemes) not everyone is interested in school. some are interested in just getting a job. give the youth a chance and some hope. if we don't then we may end up with another vigil next year??? How about the Local Council start by any contracts have to employ local people (Black, White and Brown) also to have a youth training element built into them. give kids a practical skill. more productive to give opportunity rather than the drug dealing scum being the only game in town.

I was there with my 5 year old son. A  great turn out and many prayers said for all those involved and affected.

Thank you.About 200 or so of the great and the ordinary gathered five days after the riots to pray for our country. Among those pictured are The Deputy Mayor of London, the local MP and several councillors and clergy. I have pics of premises with boarded up windows after the riot., These include Ealing Studios. Unable to be there myslef so soon after surgery but great to see (albeit brief) coverage on the TV this evening.I was with you in spirit and those affected by the riots are firmly on our church prayer cycle.
