51 Drayton Green

Did anyone attend the NHHT presentation of the plans at 53 on Thursday?What do you think?IMO a huge improvement on their previous rejected plans.

No sign of a Planning Application from Notting Hill Housing yet. I wonder why?Recent research discovered that 50% of Housing Associations (like Notting Hill) fear that the Government's new Affordable Rent programme will increase the cost of borrowing money potentially leading to financial problems and stalled new-build schemes.So the foxes may well have the small, overgrown wood at the back of 51 Drayton Green all to themselves for quite a while longer.

In 29 years I have never had a problem with parking near 51 except when school children are being transported. Now we shall have the problem it seems.

The 'Inevitable Ealing Style CPZ' will be arriving sooner than you thought - Autumn 2011 I am realiably informed and as a Drayton's resident it cannot come quick enough.I hope that the residents at 51 do get parking access but I won't be sorry to see the end of poeple who park outside my house and disappear off to West Ealing Train station for a day's work in London and waitrose workers who can't park at the store because they didn't build a big enough car park to house staff and customers.

I hope you are wrong about 'the inevitable Ealing Council style CPZ '.Access for vehicles and pedestrians appears to be via tunnels under the building.NHHT does now appear to be listening to neighbours but one wonders how much public money they have squandered on interest payments, architects and planners.Plans are going ahead for 53.

Agreed.A huge improvement. Not too tall; architecture sympathetic to the neighbourhood; pitched roofs; and set back somewhat from Drayton Green.Just 21 homes  - and to think they could have converted the building they demolished into 15 flats with 6 more houses at the back of the site.It's sad that there won't be any affordable rental homes as the plans seem to be all about shared ownership. Car parking will be a problem as the 21 homes and their visitors will have only 17 car parking spaces to fight over. And the inevitable Ealing Council style CPZ which will arrive in 2011/12 will not allow owners and tenants at 51 to have any parking rights.Finally did anyone figure out how delivery vehicles or removal vans might actually get anywhere close to the four houses at the back of the site, or enter the site at all?
