Heathrow

Has anyone seen the Heathrow airport noise consultation that should have dropped through everyone's doors over the weekend? Seemed pretty complicated to me, although I'm sure that's what BAA have intended so that no-one responds. Not sure the changes are likely to affect Hanwell too much - unless anyone know's otherwise.

In future both the Southern and the Northern runways will be used for easterly take offs.So the question is does the use of the Northern runway mean we shall suffer more noise?It would seem so. It would seem from appendix B Noise Mitigation Scheme Boundaries in the Main Consultation document that the boundary for noise which ended at approximately just north of the Hounslow Civic centre will be extended to the very bottom of Osterley Park at Lampton (i.e. extending northwards) and eastwards from the Civic Centre to the Butterfly House at Syon Park.The new boundaries are the areas in which some form of cash contribution may be claimed from BAA. These contributions apparently are being increased in real terms, but graded depending in which of the three new boundaries you are located. Ealing does not seem to be in any of these boundaries. Does anyone know to the contrary?The website says that in the UK the Government says people start to become significantly annoyed by aircraft noise at 57 dB LA. So now you know!

Consultations are just that. Maybe by widening the area of people recieving it, the replies from the mopst locally affected are diminished. for me living in hanwell i feel it does not concern me so directly as those in cranford, heston etc.. but they want a positive answer from me to jsutify what they wnat to do. however what their intention is seems a little unclear

I have responded.  The whole questionnaire seemed weighted towards positive answers in its consultation with residents.The CAA are jollying in telling us that they are doing more to alleviate the noise, and at the same time increase their compensation payments. They want to know your view and whether you think this review is fair? How can you disagree with that? The consultation is a damm PR stunt.

It's to do with using the northern runway during certain wind conditions for takeoffs and landings. Yeah, the plane noise has been quite loud recently but I think it could be to do with the fact that it's been nice weather so our windows have been open and spending more time outside.

I have not received one yet. The plane noise is so loud at the moment that I can't hear the person next to me in my garden when they go over!
