Driving instructor for refresher lessons

Can anybody recommend a driving instructor to get a rusty and nervous driver back behind the wheel (passed test at 17 but only driven on and off since)?  I have an idea I would prefer a lady instructor but if there's a man who's particularly recommended I would consider as well.  Thank you.
