Fly-tipping of pub-type waste in South Ealing

Over the last 2-3 weeks I have found on 3 occasions many clear plastic bin sacks of empty bottles, cans, pizza boxes and similar dumped outside my flats.Have observed the same outside Maytree Gardens, Gerrards Court (on one occasion a pile of at least 20 bags here) and Nickelby House.They're generally put in a pile, so not chucked from a passing van, and generally in/near the bin area.Generally 4-6 bags.Perhaps intended to be a nuicance, but just bearable (it isn't). So I imaging it will continue.It's a 'crime' that is not a crime if done on private property (is that unique?), so pointless telling Council or Police.Any comments or suggestions?

Mark,Get in quick on this offer. Envirocrime Officers have done a great job across the borough on issues such as this. Indeed, one has won the annual 'most valued employee' award from the community and another was a finalist in the awards last year. BUT,the Cabinet has now sanctioned a cut of 50% in their number, odd way of protecting 'front line services', So I expect the response times on problems to significantly increase.

Mark,The council can help you with this and has a team of people called envirocrime officers who do a great job.  The Northfield officer has had a couple of fly-tipping brothers put in prison just to give you an idea of his effectiveness.  I would be pleased to help you sort this out.  Mail me on here.  Cllr TaylorNorthfield Ward

The clear plastic bags that Barbara mentioned have the Ealing Logo and recycle printed on them.  They are delivered to eligible addresses about every 3 months.  If these are the bags they are using, I wonder where they got them from.

Most interesting. I'd not heard of that, and certainly not been issued with bags to do this.... just spoken to the Council and none of the flats are eligable for clear sack collection.Certainly the normal bin collection didn't take them, but I guess they wouldn't.Looks like somebody somewhere nearby is generating large quantities of recyclable waste which for some unknown reason they can't get rid of for free.

Clear bags may mean the rubbish is meant for recycling, since you mention bottles, cans and pizza boxes? I live near the North Circular and recycling vans can't stop there, so residents get clear bags for all recyclables, which are then collected in one quick go. Do South Ealing Road flats have a similar arrangement for recycling?

From the content, it must be a business, or perhaps the people they are paying to clear their rubbish.I/we will get a camera set up and will catch them.
