Crime in Ealing

Ealing Today reports that there is a new National Crime Mapping website - http://www.police.uk/Trouble is that it does not work and comments on the internet suggest that its capacity is insufficient.If you look at the met police site under Ealing under How are we doing/statistics crime numbers overall for the year are still up but for all London they are down.One of Cllr Bell's 5 mission statements is to make this Borough safer. Another is to secure public services. In 9 months he has a 40% failure rate. It is pathetic for him like a parrott to repeat that that it is because of the Coalitions ideaology just as it is pathetic for the Coalition to repeat like a parrott that it is all Brown's fault. We are all heartily fed up with parrotts and I wish they would all shut up.What we need is action which is reviewing Terms and Conditions, reducing high paid Council Officers who don't care about the electorate, and sharing services with other boroughs. The reduction of PCSOs would then not be so great.

I like this new website.  It tells me to avoid stations and certainly Ealing Broadway cos that's where the highest crimes (or crime) takes place.  Also I think people will be encouraged to report more crime if they can see it will be noted somewhere.  A man opened my car at night and took all my meter money about £20, no other damage.  Why should I report that to the police when I know there is nothing they can do? but if I can become a statistic for all to see, then I may be more inlined to at least report it.  Then we can see the true extent of crime in our area.By the way crime has always been with us.  Is the oldest reported crime, Cain killing Abel?

Arthur,Let's keep sex out of this, unless that redevelopment unit has put a sexed up document in front of the more weak kneed Cabinet Members and they were seduced by its siren song.Have you tried the FOI route?

George,Twerps, parrotts and highly paid officers who don't care about the electorate. I've always had a deal of respect for your careful analysis so it is worrying to see you using those terms. Problem is they could be spot on. My favourite highly paid officers are off to sell Ealing again at Mipim in Cannes in March when they are supposed to be consulting with us on what to develop where. A bit of rape and pillage before the courtship and honeymoon.
