A4 chaos

Traffic was a nightmare this evening. I had to do thai take-away deliveries and the first to Chiswick took over an hour there and back. Then I read that a man had died in a taxi on the A4 after being hit by a truck.Makes you suddenly take stock. A few weeks until xmas and things will never be the same for this man's family.

The police and transport authorities are justified in taking strict measures with Thames Materials and if they are allowed to continue operating should stipulate the appointment of a proper transport manager capable of assessing and acting on the road-worthiness and suitability of the drivers as well as the trucks.After viewing a photo of the wrecked black cab in the Evening Standard the surviving passengers and cabbie must consider themselves fortunate - unlucky for the deceased because an arrival at terminals 3 or 5 would probably have meant using the M4 motorway.

Have you seen the way those 4 axle tipper trucks are raced around roads like go-carts?They are driven quite unlike most other trucks.Frankly, I'm amazed that this has not happened more. The poor victim was a Japanese businessman who had barley been in the UK an hour.
