Chinese Lanterns should they be banned?

A 3 year old boy was badly burnt when the bottom fell out of a Chinese lantern at a recent fireworks celebration.Additionally livestock have been known to ingest the wires and die as a consequence and there have been several crop fires.Do you think we should ban Chinese Lanterns?The full story can be read herehttp://www.nfuonline.com/News/Toddler-s-mum-calls-for-Chinese-lantern-ban/

Hi NinaI think they should be banned - and thought so before this recent incident. Yes, they are pretty but they could so easily be the start of fires, especially if used in dry weather. Unfortunately they seem to be becoming very popular. I have found two burnt-out ones in Blondin Park over recent weeks.
