No real reason other than she has had a lovely female teacher for 2-3 years but feels that she would prefer a male one! Interestingly she has a male guitar teacher who she responds to very well and maybe its the male attention that she likes (yes, she does have a dad in the house!). But it cannot be any old male! I'd like to find someone quite special to them and who's personality will suit them. My son had a fantastic male teacher when he started. He really inspired him to learn. Sadly, we moved far away from him. Nick had had a really calm, relaxed manner but managed to enthuse my son to learn even though he had started off all negative and contrary. My son has also had a female teacher for the past 2-3 years but also now feels he would like to try picking up the syllabus with a male teacher (he also has a male guitar teacher to whom he responds well). He should be working towards his grade 4 in piano. I/they may be wrong about this assumption about males but we'd like to try to see if we may be right. Sadly, I think if I don't find what we are looking for they will give up doing their grades even though they say they would both like to achieve at least a grade 5. When I moved to Ealing I just couldn't find a male teacher who wasn't very young and inexperienced so I'm trying again now. Know anyone who can take control of two calm, talented kids?
