Famous people that you've spotted in Ealing?

Hmmmm I guess that I'd better go first....Paul Whitehouse (of 'The Fast Show') stood outside M&S (with a carrier bag). Dennis Waterman propping up the bar at the 'Red Lion' pub in South Ealing (admittedly just across the road from the film studios so hardly a surprise!)And here's a very obscure one - David Easter ('Pat Hancock' in the golden days of 'Brookside' + more recent appearances in 'Family Affairs' 'The Bill' and 'Holby City') I spotted entering Primark in the Ealing Broadway Centre with his partner. I know that JK, the lead singer of Jamiroquai used to busk outside Ealing Broadway tube station but unfortunately I never saw that first hand.Any others?

Neil Kinnock buying loads of booze in Waitrose and my other half saw "Charley" from Big Brother (the foul mouthed excuse for a human being who was related to some Premiership footballer or other). Bit sparse eh? Seemed to be more celebs in both Kingston where I used to live and Richmond where I used to work

blimey, where was Woody Allen? I once saw Alexei Sayle sitting in the New Inn as I walked past, then went in the Red Lion where Harry Enfield was having a swift half.Ealing comedy? and jeremy hardy walking thru the jazzfest a couple of years ago.My missus went to Questors last year and Sir Ian McKellen was there..  i spied gavin esler walking thru walpole park not long ago. does that mean he's back with his missus?

Small world isn't it?I used to live at 9 The Park and when I had my second daughter here in Geraldton Western Australia one of hte sisters working there used to live at number 27!!!!!She also then owned a house right near me here!!!

Last month, I saw Woody Allen (actually managed to get a photo with him), Josh Brolin and Frieda Pinto.And a fortnight ago, I saw Phil Spencer outside my house.Sigh.....PS How about infamous people ??? LOL

Saw Vic Reeves in Hippie Heaven back in the late 90s with his then first wife Sarah Vincent and their daughter who looked about 4 or 5 years at the time.  They were looking at candles but he stood out so much as wearing striking black suit and glasses and he is very tall!

Lillian Board the Silver Medalist and her twin sister Loraine attended Grange Senior Girls School around 1960 onwards.Lillian died aged 21 of cancer.I attended Grange from 1954 till 1961 and now live in Australia,since 1963.I can remember being told there were twins in the first year in 1961 and I said the must not be identical otherwise I would have come across them.I understand Lillian and Loraine were not identical.Is it the same Lillian Board?RegardsConne

I managed a pharmacy in The Avenue 69-70 and one in Mattock Lane, 93-98. Now in Finchley I have only met one actress and a former First Lady of Nigeria.Ealing sensibly has the policy of only using the names of deceased persons for roads etx. Not using the living spares us controversy. But even the dead can be very contentious. e.g. Blair Peach . Lillian Board Way is in Northolt though she lived in W13. unlike BP whose only connection with Southall was his death there.Lillian told me her Olympic silver was a bigger thrill than her Commonwealth and other golds.I wish I did own a pharmacy or even have shares in one but I am a mere legal drug dealing employee.

That's very interesting Graham, there's a street called Lillian Avenue near Acton Town tube station that's named after Lillian Board (for those of you who have never heard of her she was an Olympic silver medallist in the 400 metres at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics who tragically died of cancer shortly after her 22nd birthday in 1970). So she was your 'customer'? Do you own a shop?

Forty years ago Lillian Board was a customer. Eleven years ago I had one of the Glennisters among my customers, The Times cricket correspondent and the actress playing Mrs Sowerberry alongside Barry Humphries in Oliver.

John Sargeant outside Ealing Browadway Tube.  I spoke to him.  He said before he was on Come Dancing he was well known, now he's "famous".  An interesting definition of well known and famous, I thought.

In the three years I've lived in Ealing I've seen:1. Paul Merritt ('Economy Gastronomy' presenter) strolling up Northfield Avenue.2. David Siletto (BBC Arts Correpsondent) in Maxim restaurant, again on Northfield Avenue. Not sure he qualifies as famous, mind.but best of the lot...3. The legend that is Processor Heinz Wolff, outside Ealing Broadway station.
