Indian Restaurants in Northfield Avenue

Guys, we nearly always end up in Monty's. Where else do you think is good for a currry? Is the one on the corner of Elers Road OK?

I second Poppadums.......really nice.We did try Papaya and liked it very much.....a bit different and very pleasant service. We'll go back.

Personally, in Northfields I would say it's Montys or it's nothing.  Further afield I would recomment Poppadoms on the river in Brentford - very good menu indeed.

We liked Posh Punjab when we tried it, thought the food was very good (although Monty's is still ahead). Cardamom is pretty good, although haven't been there since they revamped it recently. Papaya was pretty good when we tried it.We've never been in Raipur (don't tend to see very many people in it either - how do they survive - even Lee's chinese seems to have more people in it and that's rarely more than a couple of tables....).There is also India India down towards the tube station - never been in there, but it looked pretty crowded last night, so would be interested in hearing any reports.

We do like Monty's in Northfields and the one at Ealing B'way Centre(near the Post Office).  But our favourite is Papaya on the corner of Northfield Ave and Elers road.  Very pleasant service - always with a smile - and immaculate cotton table cloths and napkins and the decor is more Westend than WestEaling. The cuisine is quite different from most ruby houses in Ealing - it's south Indian/Sri Lankan'ish. prices a tad higher than the usual and it's advisable to book at weekends.  Have a nice ruby.  ;-)

Papaya on that corner is good and a bit different - sells dosai pancakes. I had high hopes for Posh Punjabi when it first opened, but a return visit last weekend disappointed - it's not bad, but there's clearly been a change of chef and although the menu is the same, the dishes don't quite hit the heights that they did before - I'd go back, but it's not so special anymore.
