Favourite cartoons/notices - the non-animated variety
Like the adverts/commercials but drawings, the type one saw in Punch and so on.My favourites so far:In New Yorker magazine just after the US introduced food label(l)ing the cartoon showed Hansel and Gretel standing and looking at the Sugar Cottage. On the end wall was a large sign stating:This building contains Sugar, marzipan, Sunset Yellow, and further ingredients.Punch Magazine: a spokesman holding a clipboard standing on the steps at the entrance to an office block. In front of him a group of people. Above him a sign "White Star Line". Behind the group a man with a polar bear on a lead. The caption - "Yes.Yes. But any news of the iceberg?". I believe this was an ASH or NHS notice:NO SMOKING - the maximum penalty for ignoring this notice is death by emphysema, lung cancer, bronchiectasis; and several other diseases. I can't remember which.I suppose other notices could be included such as "This sign has sharp edges. Take care when handling" and below, in smaller print, "The road ahead is closed".
