Valentine credit card massacre.
Well I went to that "toffs" supermarket in West Ealing last night to pick up some romantic paraphernalia for my Valentine of over 30 years and what greeted me? The end of one gondola with 1/2 a dozen Purple Ronnie cards and a very small selection of chocolates, well I ask you a Purple Ronnie for my wife (don't even go there!!).I walked out of there empty handed and went to the "plebes" supermarket at Hoovers and what a selection of goodies awaited me -100s of cards dozens of boxes of chocs and flowers galore and a long line of men like me at the 10 items or less checkout (I'm sure that man in front had 11 items). Spoilt for choice I was, spoilt for choice. Is romance in West Ealing/Ealing dead or have the men no money left after buying that diamond trinket for their loved ones, are you presenting it to her this evening then, over a romantic meal????.P.S. Traffic light roses - 5 for £5.00 Tesco roses - 12 for £4.75 - but of course I bought a much larger bouquet than that!
