Has anyone managed a recent bus journey without the endless noisome babble of people on the phone?

Now I've seen it all - the driver of a No 70 bus, turning right from east Acton Lane on to Acton Vale this afternoon, chatting away with a mobile in one hand while swinging the monster round the corner with the other.

I STILL see motorists trying to drive and use their mobile phones at the same time...crazy!One day my husband and I spotted a woman in a car driving along Acton High Street looking into her mirror and applying makeup whilst driving! I'm afraid we were too stunned to note down her registration number and report her!Yesterday on the bus one guy was chatting non stop on his mobile phone at the top of his voice. I sat in front and felt like thumping him one. You can't say anything though in case the person become abusive! No wonder there are so many accidents.Jean

That's a great quote, Graham. Perhaps we should try it on some of the idiots causing this problem. It could be worth it to see their reaction.

Oops.I should like to follow the bard." I will go root awayThe noisome weeds which without profit suckThe soil’s fertility from wholesome flowers."Richard II, act 3, sc. 4, l. 37-9.

...I agree with you. Plus the ones with 'amusing' video clips that they must show their friends not realising or caring that everyone within earshot has to listen too.

I can accept people using their mobile phones on public Transport, however, what I cannot stand are these yobs who constantly play their R&B Music out loud which aggravates the daily commuter.Anyone else experienced this like I have or is it just me?
Oh, and cyclists using their mobiles.
Is that the best you can manage? You'll need to do better to get me clip-clopping across your bridge :)

But it sort of works over there. It's a chaotic jumble where there seems to be no order and yet there is.....It's pretty much the same with Southall Broadway. I used to hate cycling that and would take a big detour via Sipson and Houndslow to avoid it. Then I was taught the secret - just let go of my Anglo-Saxon desires for rules and priority and just 'go with the flow'
Noisome? Disgusting to look at and smelly into the bargain. But what about the noise?

In Goa I saw a man on a motor bike with his wife riding pillion, two children sandwiched between them, he's busy dodging cars, buses, cows. pedestrians..... and chatting on a mobile! Mad

,,and coming soon..mobiles on the underground!!!My favourite when driving is trying not to hit pedestrians on their mobiles crossing the road completely oblivious to traffic. Oh, and cyclists using their mobiles. What is this need to constantly babble to someone else???
