I've been switching between the two formats for quite sometime. The new version was quite buggy and was often down but these problems seem to have been dealt with.
It does deal with some of the flaws in the old design — difficulty in posting images and video, having to open each individual message, email only log on and the broken DM system. It is also easier to use on a mobile and there is a spell check.
The old system was easier to navigate and the display of the list of threads on forum home page was cleaner and it was easier to understand a long thread plus there was a chance to review posts whereas on this version Submit is final.
