friends of cuckoo park fight to save open space
The GAA- a multi million pound sports organisation, are seeking permission from the council to install 5 containers for showers/toilets/changing rooms/storage & a diesel generator, in the tennis courts of a small, community park in Hanwell. The park is frequently used by children and families in the local area, ball games, bike riding, running, walking and dog walking. The GAA had already, without permission or consultation, installed two 8metre goalposts & placed a container within the parks tennis courts - fenced around the courts, locking the public out. This is a public open space. Cuckoo park is in a conservation area & is registered as a village green, this means that any addition to the park must be kept as an open space and benefit the whole community, which this does not as it will be fenced off and used solely by GAA members. you can comment on Ealing council planning application Reference 261741FUL
