What are your predictions for the Ealing council election results

Put your money where your mouth is and suggest what the make up of the council will be when the results are announced.

Even though Liebore Labour retained control of Ealing Council, there is a silver lining. That Lavrentiy Beria look-a-like lost his seat in the North Greenford ward.But it is too early to say if there will be a decrease in the amount manro being shital'ed out of Ealing Planning Department. This in order for Liebore Labour to endear themselves to some developer creep at the expense of the people, e.g. the case of Ealing Town Hall - Mastcraft.

Ben, people find you very amusing. You must have been to clown school at some point.There are obvious reasons why Labour held a majority. Look at the results. But you make the very common mistake of thinking that everyone belongs to some party or other. Clearly not.One can point out the very many failings of this council here and elsewhere and it has got through to some voters in some areas. Labour were worried enough to suddenly find the cash and the will to clean all the streets at the last minute, and Mason even made a half hearted promise to do better if re-elected. That remains to be seen.Shouldn’t you be out organising some cycling event for Forest or alone?

Dominik has made a good point. What have any of you done to make this partial shift in power come about, other than to make lots of white noise on here? Were any of you pounding the streets on behalf of your fabulous party, either by knocking on doors and speaking to voters, or taking on the important task of distributing flyers? You all embrace the victim mentality, that is just being a load of chronic complainers of others, which somehow gives you the satisfaction of action without doing anything.It is all of yours fault that we still have a Labour Council. None of you stood for election.

You sure about that Dominik?Labour lost all three seats in Hanwell to the Greens and all three Walpole seats to the LibDems. What I’ve been told by various political activists of different colours is that where these parties specifically targetted they beat Labour. Convincingly.In other areas there was very little canvassing from anyone other than Labour, who seem to have a dedicated team for that, and the Ealing Independents. The reasons were budget constraints and volunteer numbers.Even in traditionally strong areas like Southall the labour vote was well down. Mason lost 44 percent of his support from last time round.One suspects that any lessons supposedly to be learned from this won’t last long. It’s the usual suspects in charge and the leopards won’t change their spots.Still, we can all expect our streets to be cleaned again in four years time.

Well, one thing is certain, this remains a safe space for people to voice their opinions, while having absolutely no influence whatsoever on any of the people of Ealing outside of this forum.

Ealing will probably be Labour's best result in London seeing as Starmer was in Northfields this morning.

No chance of that. Labour will carry on regardless with its policy of ignoring almost everyone. Unlikely that the promised better engagement will happen.Reform were never going to make any ground in Ealing, given the demographic here.

Good news is that the right are nowhere here.

I’m guessing the Lib Dems will make gains, based partly on looking at the early results in Richmond. Maybe some Greens? Hopefully no R****rm, but you never know.As long as everyone voted, we can’t complain too much.Hope everyone gets good councillors. Good luck, and have a nice day. x

The results are in.Labour 46 seats, down 13.LibDems 13, up 7.Tories 5, no change.Greens 5, up 5Independent 1, up 1.Labour people who lost their seats included Shital Manro, Yoel Gordon and Polly Knewstub. All cabinet members.Greens took all three Hanwell Broadway seats, while LibDems wiped out Labour in Walpole.It looks like Labour’s vote share has dropped significantly since 2022.
