Nationwide household recycling changes, Ealing?

Has anybody heard anything from Ealing Council about the alleged recycling changes?

Amazed to read,from multiple sources, that the average family throws away almost 20 pounds worth of food every week. Certainly not the case in our house where the only food that is the recycling caddy is vegetable peelings, banana skins, the odd well past its healthy date orange or the extra spoonful of mashed potato that nobody actually wanted. Stale bread makes croutons or puddings and wonky veg makes soup.

(wish the wouldn't call it "waste", especially food waste, as if used right it's not being wasted).

Pretty sure Ealing won't change, the big one was food collection but it's been doing that for years already, and there is already a seperate garden waste collection.This is already happenign in ealing:"According to Defra's Simpler Recycling guidance, external, from 31 March, waste collectors must collect the following separately:Food and garden wastePaper and card - although depending on where you live, this can be grouped with other dry recyclablesAll other dry recyclable materials (glass, metal and plastic, including cartons)Residual waste - this is the rubbish that cannot be recycled and so is sent to landfill or for energy recovery"https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn4vwj0yj20o

And I see that in the government's 'Simpler Recycling' strategy that kitchen waste can be combined with garden waste "in one container'.
