Orion Park Development and shops opp Northfield station

I note that none of the existing shops opposite Northfields station have reopend since the christmas break. A real shame as some great independent shops,  Element, Ealing Wine bar and urban topicana. I know there was talk of a housing development called Orion Park development on the site and assume that this is now happening?Thankyou

There's already a Sainsbury's Local right opposite Orion Park, a particularly substandard branch, IMO.

Sadly I would say it’s a certainty. Every bit of land nowadays is built on, to the max.As you say it’s a sad loss of some independent shops, no doubt there will be the customary Sainsbury/Tesco/Asda whatever, with inflated prices

From what I could find online - this development was approved back in 2021 which means, as I understand it, it has timed out and is no longer valid. As far as I saw when I passed the site late last year there is no work on the site - even of the superficial kind that that keeps a planning application on life support. However, the closure of the parade of shops suggests something is afoot.
