Thanks Peter. ‘Tis the season to be jolly despite the Scrooge cycling contingent on here.So Ben’s argument is that he can’t be bothered to read the officers report, even though it disproves everything he says. Does he stick his fingers in his ears when he doesn’t want to hear things too? What a child. Sorry it’s not in large print with easy words and pictures for you Ben.The link works fine. He’s just doing the usual cycling lobbyists trick of ignoring facts and relying on his opinions, rather like Paul ‘Mary Portas’ James. His assertion that shops will be fine isn’t based on actually talking to shop keepers whose margins between profit and loss often rely on the passing trade now discouraged here.As for the policy being about turnover of vehicles, utter tripe. If that was the reason then there would be no shared use bays, which now comprise over half the old parking in the borough. They actually encourage longer stays, thereby reducing the turnover. If it was a case of 30 minutes only, strictly enforced, then that argument might hold some sway.People will still drive to the shops, but not to these ones, as others have said on this thread. Now, Santa arrives next week Ben. Maybe swap out a new tricycle for a big book of knowledge instead.
