When a safe open space which had a wide range of planting, was always biodiverse long before the phrase was coined and a wealth of wildlife much of which has been decimated in less than two years. Along with several healthy mature trees and facilities compromised. Most fundamentally, the total loss of a safe place for Children to play for generations, possible to view the entire park from most locations and then turn it into a wholly unsafe place with a range of risks that it has taken generations to mitigate in an area where more and more people have less and less useable recreational space effectively creating a no go zone for many. All overseen and instigated by people who barely know where the park is and completely ignoring those who know the place inside out.Questions most definitely need to be asked. If that is not enough, handing Thames Water a cost cutting solution to a problem that is unverifiable in the stated justifications, but is in effect to allow overdense developments at the expense of local open spaces, valued and protected for over a century for the health and well being of All, not just a few, is equally reprehensible. It has been mishandled with deception and misinformation from the outset and constant avoidance from 'The Team' , Elected and unelected officials. There really does need to be a full enquiry as this way beyond acceptable .It should be at a higher level and outside of political posturing though.
