Paybyphone broken

Paybyphone have updated their app, which has totally broken it. I would strongly recommend that nobody lets the app upgrade itself, although I wouldn't be at all surprised if the problem is with their back end systems in which case the existing app will also be broken.The app shows that I have a valid visitor parking permit, but when I touch the button to use it nothing happens. It also refuses to admit that there are any nearby parking locations even when standing next to one.There are tens of thousands of one star reviews of this garbage (no stars isn't an option unfortunately). An AI bot seems to have been posting replies to the bad reviews admitting that permits are broken and saying that they should start working again shortly. I wonder if our car hating council will refund any parking fines due to people being unable to pay to park :)

Delete the app - re-install it - and log in again. Should be ok then!

Paul probably saw 10 minutes of Match of the Day back in the 90s and he’s now an expert on all things football related.Nothing wrong with road closures around sports grounds on match days, but at other times it’s pointless. The Lionel Road South closure was initially temporary and was made permanent because it suited Hounslow council’s transport agenda. Given the peak time queues heading to Chiswick roundabout from the south (which stretch a fair way back into Brentford) it’s not doing much to ease congestion.Brentford play Chelsea this Saturday evening, so look out for those SUVs from Surrey heading our way.

You need to get out more. It has been permanently closed since 2022 save for permitted service traffic (deliveries and construction).Would that it was open on 'non-match' days as it would ease congestion onto the A4 at Chiswick roundabout.

Not been there , but it’s probably for a ridiculous “reason”Wembley for example they shut roads so the 297 can’t get through!!!Last time I went no buses for 45minutes & all terminating at Slperton Sainsbury’s.Great, NOT

There’s loads of those anti terror ramps, barriers whatever now.Protect Xmas markets a target from fanatics.That’s something unfortunately, that can never be countered.The unnecessary closures need clearing

You'd think, after the incident in liverpool where it looks like a driver that got past the cordon panicked and drove at people they'll be doing MORE to stop drivers getting into places they shouldn't be at the time, not less...

Pavement for people & walking, roads for wheels.Stems from anti car zealots, being TfL & councils.Causes congestion unnecessarily, and could also tell you places around Ealing where traffic’s been completely norsed up & makes things worse

I'm now wondering if football grounds weren't the first places to have roads around them closed off to motor vehicle through traffic, and if the idea of doing this to protect people on foot didn't all stem from that.

Peter,Are you serious? Are you seriously saying that you can't think of a good reason why there are road closures post a football stadium? Behind every decision there is a reason, regardless of whether you agree with it or not. It might have been sensible to ask a local police officer for the obvious (well it is to me) reason.

My £7.99 a month plan gives unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 0330 numbers come under that too!

It's not true that 0330 numbers are higher rate, for many they will be free if people have free minutes in their call plan, my 12 pound a month plan is unlimited free calls and texts and 0330 numbers come under that.

brilliant, at Villa Pk.St George  & Union flags all over.No cyclists either, only downside roads shut for no apparent reason.Causing congestion, consequently, pollution!!

Beware that these calls are at a higher rate and you may be on hold for longer than you wish to park for.Very tricky to use and all beware that people struggling with phones to pay online or call to park are key targets for phone snatchers, especially older people and women.

I noticed it had updated but don't use it for permits so it's been okay.I wish App owners would put up a poster on their walls saying 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'!
