Mindless vandalism in Lammas Park

All the signs and a bench have been sprayed with 'Toxic', and 'Toxic Lamas' (sic).  Not difficult to work out who the perpetrator is, but it's infuriating to think that misinformation and hysteria has to lead to wilfully wrecking the park for everyone.Did they think who'd be paying for the cost of repair? Probably not.Not big and not clever.(And no, building work is not the same as vandalism).

WRONG Simon.  There HAS been a flood problem and it wasn't just a couple of puddles.  You need to stop trying to change the story to suit your own narrative.  We have other flood mitigation schemes nearby which were on nothing like this scale and are fine.  This one was crazily out of scale with huge holes and didn't even seem to match the plans from the start.  Who would design and dig holes that large and deep next to a children's playground?  All those underground pipes in whichever park they have been placed should have grilles over their entrances to stop animals and children getting inside - and still don't.Oh and if you can only resort to being rude to people which is your usual answer to anything - then you have most definitely lost the argument.

Thanks for owning up, Michael. I recently posted elsewhere in this forum a list of information gathered from various sources (cited). It’s still there if you want to take a look. I did make it clear that I am just one person gathering this information, and that I welcome any additional info, with sources. So far no-one has taken me up on this, but there are so many new posts on this forum that things get overlooked, or people may just not be that interested.Anyway, I warmly invite you in the spirit of this local forum to look at that post and let me know if you see anything that’s wrong, and/or wish to add anything. Its interesting to see when the residents are ignored by their Elected Representatives and have a scheme that they are adamantly against imposed on them with fake Data and context to justify. The apparent support on a survey portal that has been altered by the ECO warriors  and their friends from all over south east in last day of consultation has angered many.  Along with the cleverly hidden public notice hidden in  journal to avoid being truly seen while barely meeting legal notice rules. all standard discerption of our arrogant Labour council Typical Ealing council approach. I am not surprised the residents and electorate are escalating their protest.  When the  elected representatives intentionally lie and deceive and no longer represent their electorate its time to vote them out . Protest is necessary as was proven during LTN battle until Ealing Council U turned forced by public protest. We are all left with a massive Off road open water storage tanks that are a risk to life children and pets desperately being green washed to cover up the scale of yet another one of Ealing Council's disastrous ECO projects. I wonder if Ealing council ever considered actually getting residents on board to a scheme with truth and facts how that would work?  A new approach for Ealing  to try

The police are investigating because defacing permanent signs and benches makes this a case of criminal damage. At least one witness has a photo of the perpetrator, so we'll all know pretty soon.

Don't get too upset, Dominik. You always find something to say elsewhere. Colin's question was posed because you never usually respond directly to anything. One suspects that's because you can't support anything you say with facts.The 'whataboutery and chicanery' are usually that from you.

There has never been a flood problem around Lammas Park. If one is now imminent, then it would be down to overdevelopment further up in Ealing, which is of course what Ealing Council and its developer chums want. All that essential 'affordable' housing that's out of reach to all those desperately in need of a home.The half-truths, obfuscation and outright lies from the council over this beggars belief. Dominik might be happy to be governed locally by an authority that can't manage anything properly but thousands aren't.Oh, and only a real half-wit believes that digging big holes in the park will save the planet. It really won't.

I've not added any caveats at all.You gave the straight forward answer and I'm fine with you having that opinion.I will disagree with your preference for B as it means the loss of valuable public amenity space and, IMHO, really bad for the environment and overall health and welfare of the local community.Digressing slightly but....... I live a stones throw from Lammas Park but far enough away that these works won't directly effect my house value, the use of my garden etc. It does however mean myself and, yes thousands of, other people have lost a few acres of OUR land to use and enjoy.My house has never flooded save for the road gulley that has been blocked for 3 years and the fact that our local sewer is basically trollied and clearly running over capacity at times of high rainfall. The road and pavement ends up with a huge puddle but such is life.Now my house COULD flood but I'd say for that to happen I'd also see a fella called Noah busy in his back garden with a load of lumber and pairs of animals as far as the eyes can see.So my position will always be the opposite to yours as I've lost something for the sake of gaining zero.Finally I have no issue with not being classy but have a word with yourself... I applauded you for giving a straight answer as not many would. I've not edited or changed the question.Hopefully you're not that mortally wounded by it all to make it to the Red Cross Field Hospital -- keeping fighting the fight you warrior you!

Most of the people who supported the works on the council consultation don't live anywhere near the park, a sizeable number didn't even live in Ealing. They were mobilised by a self-aggrandising wildlife guru, who has unwittingly facilitated the building of yet more enormous tower blocks in central Ealing, so destroying the environment he says he's so concerned about.Do try better Dominik. Your posts are becoming increasingly unhinged.
