There is poor, dangerous, selfish and illegal riding AND driving by many.I have a photo of a Waitrose van that I saw just drive straight onto a pavement to park plus many others.  The kerbstones become dislodged and dangerous and the paving stones cracked and broken and easy to trip on if they rock.  This is obviously worse when done by heavy lorries.I've seen motor scooters and other vehicle riders/drivers obviously totally fixated by the traffic lights and trying to race those lights by overtaking the queuing cars with no thought or view of any pedestrians either crossing at those lights or of any traffic edging out to join the road from a side road.  The pedestrians are most at risk followed by the cyclists and scooter riders who are thrown off over car bonnets onto the tarmac into the path of oncoming vehicles.  No they are not all wearing helmets nor should they have to be. My own life has been permanently changed by a fall as a result of tripping on a rocking paving stone  - the third person that day at the same place I was told!  I think in that particular case the damage to the pavement was due to poor reinstatement of slabs by contractors working on a building but it could have been by anyone. There seem to be a lot of drivers who think nothing of driving up and over kerbstones in order to park.  This can leave the kerbstones dislodged and at an angle which when wet makes them slippery and easy to slide off into the road. Please always report all damaged and dangerous paving stones to the Council.  I used www.fixmystreet.com which can be used in a lot of boroughs all over the UK.  (Who thinks everyone stays in one place all the time?)
