Ealing Project to close

Very sad news that Ealing Project will close on 1st June.According to their social media posts, members will be able to transfer their membership to the Ealing Picturehouse for a while.It was great to have the Ealing Project especially at a time when Ealing had no cinemas at all. I always found the seats comfy, the rooms dark enough, and the people very friendly.I watched the last Mission Impossible film there, and I will go back to see the new one before it closes. Come and join me!

I am not sure that everyone is inclined nor can afford a membership,especially if they only go 3 or 4 times a year and don't fancy paying through the teeth when they do.Perhaps the normal price could have  been reduced and concessionary prices waived,as the current situation with prices and membership schemes obviously hasn't worked.

I'm surprised any one finds the Ealing Picturehouse expensive. At around nine pounds without membership I think it's very reasonable .Also  comfortable and a relaxed atmosphere.

The screen was full for Mission Impossible tonight. A nice send off, although I will probably go again one more time.I did check out of curiosity how much it would’ve cost me and four others to see it at the Picturehouse and the price would’ve been the same, due to group discount. Despite too much exposition for my liking, I still recommend the film. The stunts don’t disappoint, and definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

They’d have to fix the numerous leaks there first. It was quite busy this evening, probably because of Tuesday discount tickets.It used to be a nightclub years ago, but doubt there’s much call for a new one now. It’s a difficult space to find a use for.

I'm surprised that anyone should find the Picturehouse unaffordable. Membership is good value and, as a senior member, I pay £7.99 for every film I see after the first 5 freebies.

Ealing Project  cinemas were really good. A good eclectic selection of films excellent affordability and good sized screens and sound and very comfortable, appreciated more if it is a bit of a dud movie.  Cafe and bar good too.A massive loss after such a long void. And above all affordable. Which the new place in Brentford and the other place in Ealing are sadly not.

The Picturehouse has 8 screens, which means they can show something from everyone: children's films; Hollywood blockbusters; arty-farty, avant (not avante) garde films.That seems to me to be the best business model for a cinema.

I'm sorry to hear that they're closing as there's always room for more cinemas but, after going quite a bit in their first year, I found that they seemed to lose their way in the type of the films they were showing: blockbuster stuff which was just not for me.The seats were very comfortable and I loved the huge underground social space with its sofas.
