Parking in The Avenue

The ticket machines in The Avenue have been sealed up. This means that the free half hour parking has now just dissapeared. The signage on the street still says to put your ticket from the machine in your car. Is this legal, can I still park for the half hour by putting a home made note on my dash saying the time when I arrived.

The side opposite The Drayton, 10 bays are suspended from April 22nd to 06 May. If you park there will get a ticket

If there are no other ways to pay, then the penalties are unenforceable; if you do get issued a ticket, you are highly likely to win an appeal. But you must check there are no alternative means to pay, which includes not only other machines on the street but any telephone payment option available (which should be indicated on the ticket machines).

I would be very wary about parking.There are probably markings or signs somewhere (baffling as possible) to warn of penalties.Take photos to cover any eventuality , because if a pcn is issued, once you’re in the system it’s a nightmare
