Daniels store sad news

Very sad to read on that Daniels is about to close its doors after 120 years. Its the last of the proper stores we used to have in Ealing. I hope the lady that owns the wool shop will find somewhere else to trade. There's nowhere else those of us who knit can get our supplies apart from making a trip to John Lewis. Unless anyone knows of another local haperdashers.

there is a shop in Turnham Green Terrace called Creations.  i know they sell embroidery silks but not sure if they also sell wool.  phone is listed as 07350 130196

There used to be a John Sanders in Ruislip High Street. Does anyone know if it’s still going, I haven’t been there for ages.

Really good haberdashery on Hanwell Broadway along by the Post Office. I am honestly surprised that Daniels survived as long as it did given that after they moved from the large store they were left with basically a beds and bedding shop and a  haberdashery and a chiropodist. Department stores are not the model currently for High Street retail and they have gone the way of Rowse's, John Sanders and Bentalls. Sad, but somehow inevitable.
