New Sir John Soane Exhibition

There is a new exhibition at the Sir John Soane’s Museum highlighting his vision as the ‘first modernist architect’. His designs and drawings for Pitzhanger Manor feature as one example.A lot has also been written about his influence on architects centuries later. His design for his wife’s mausoleum is said to have inspired the iconic red telephone box.The exhibition is on until 18th May. Going back to the subject, I visited the exhibition today, the way she uses light is stunning. John Soane was an odd fish though, a guide was telling me about his collection of death masks and special room for playing the "monk" game. Has anyone been to the other John Soane Museum in central London?

The museum at 13, Lincoln's Inn Fields is also a very worthwhile visit. Strange layout, as the exhibits are multi-layered in places and need the staff to open them for you.
