Would you mind giving a rough précis of your lives.Are you employed, retired, work from home, flexi time, white or blue collar.Salary bracket, mortgage or rentChildren, pets.Any information you may care to divulge???

You’re all graaping wrong end of the stick, it’s not important & there’s no security issue.All I’m asking for example is are they each employed.If so can they work from home, flexi time.All real basic stuff to reinforce everyone’s situation is different.All the promoting oh cycling & never a word against it, does NOT suit everyone for various reasons

It's also no one's business but theirs and impertinent to ask.Why don't you tell us all about your situation first,Peter and answer your own questions about yourself? They could quite easily make up a load of lies anyway,so the question is ridiculous.

Peter, it has everything to dowith security. I certainly would not answer personal or status questions on a public forum. You need to find another way to ask them although I really wouldn't bother in Ben's case as any answer would probably be ficitious.

It’s nothing to do with security.I’m asking as those 3 seem to assume one size fits all, that cycling & anti car measures work for everyone.I can categorically tell them they don’t, everyone’s situation is different.Hence my questions

A former work colleague has been lecturing both here and in the US on information security for last 20 years. He is a visiting professor at the Massachusetts institute of technology find at the University of Reading which is a leading cyber security  establishment. Those little snippets of information and their gathering is called breadcrumbing where lowly paid individuals are retained to gather all those snippets together and form a profile which is then sold for a pittance on the dark web. Often, seemingly innocent , questions are used together this information. Beware of questions like what was number one the year you were born? All the favourite your secret agent name is your mother's maiden name in the name of your first pet, these are often used as part of a security question. Be very careful.

I am no expert on the internet etc.and don't really know one end of a laptop from another,but I do know that the information requested could help those nefarious types who steal identities and should never be given on a public forum.
