The ‘survey’ is highly selective and a very small sample of residents, in a borough of 250,000+ people and with a wide disparity of Socio-economic and ethnic groups. It’s also written in such a way as to ‘encourage’ positive responses, giving the outcomes reported. Rather like the consultations carried out by the council.Of course Mason, who has been very noticeably absent in public of late, doesn’t dwell on the areas where his council is failing.Buildings left half constructed.Planning for ever more outsize towers (despite his ‘no more tall towers’ pledge)Failing to collect fly-tipping within the requisite time. Not responding to FOI requests.Garden waste collections reduced but the price put up (there were a lot of people discovering this in early December!)The Lammas Park excavation debacle. The list goes on….I wonder if he will enlighten us as to the council’s stance on Heathrow expansion. He was all for it before but with an election campaign next year he’s going to be struggling to justify it to residents who will be subject to more noise pollution.
