Ealing Nighttime Economy Consultation

Ealing Council has launched a public consultation about the increase in the nighttime economy ( activity after 6 p.m.). The consultation closes at Noon on January 17th.I encourage forum readers and residents to read the details, understand the positive and negative impacts, and express their feelings.Any changes in Alcohol licensing should not be implemented until there have been positive and proven improvements in local policing and the number of officers available. This should also be done in conjunction with reducing antisocial behaviour and drug dealing on the streets and improving street lighting. A lot of guff in those 141 pages.Economics will dictate success or failure of new ventures. The price of a pint or a cinema ticket is getting beyond some people now. It means people will become more selective about how and where they spend their money. Unfortunately Ealing isn’t particularly attractive as a night out destination when other parts of London have much more to offer.

The consultation requires one to read 141 pages of material before filling in the consultation. That's ludicrous. If the Council really wanted to hear many views it would have produced say a 10 page summary of the four 'must be read' documents.That being said, I have filled in the survey and sent it off.
