I thnk council should stay out proselytizing about international politics. After all, they can hardly get their own houses in order. They can have no affect on the situation abroad and it only does any good for those who do the grandstanding, because it makes them feel better about themselves.

Of course I have, and not all Palestinians/Gazans are against Israel, your point is?

Not all Jews agree with the behaviour of the Israeli Govt! Have you not seen the way that a lot of Israelis have protested against their Govt?

Yes, LBE Council are such a player on the world stage. And I wouldn't be overly sure about LBE's seeming "rejection" and non throwing of money in this instance, they have form in doing things we have no idea of.Know wot I mean?

From the article on the front page of this site it doesn’t appear that Ealing council is going to get involved Rosco, or throw money at it.We were to become a ‘borough of sanctuary’ for refugees according to a much trumpeted move last year but whether that’s been officially done is anyone’s guess. That would meet some of the demands of the Palestinian supporters. While I sympathise with the plight of the innocent victims on all sides of the current conflagrations in the Middle East, it really isn’t down to Ealing Council to sort it out. Unfortunately these campaigners seem to think that UK influence is far greater than it is.

Nothing whatsoever to do with any Council, not a Council problem or issue by any stretch. So, of course, our Lefty Council will leap right in, get involved and chuck money at it.
